Most of our senior members have their offices in the B150 Corridor. The rest of our group is located on the upper floor of STRI in room number 1E126. To access the E100 transept, please use the telephone next to the door to call the STRI Administration Office (ext. 3404, 3083, or 3417).

Local Transport

Local buses are operated by uno and ARRIVA.

Arriving by Car

If you plan to use your car to travel to UH, please let us know as soon as possible. We will make arrangements for a visitor's parking permit for you.

Travel from M25: From all directions on the M25, head for Junction 23 with the A1(M). The University is served by the A1(M) motorway, and is roughly 3 miles from the M25. Exit at Junction 3 take the third exit and follow the road around into the main College Lane Campus.

Travel from M1: For those traveling from the North down the M1, exit at Junction 7, which takes you onto the M10. Travel along for about 3 miles to the next roundabout and take the second exit onto the A414. Keep to this road for about 3 miles following signs to Hatfield. When you get to Junction 3 with the A1(M) take the second exit and follow the road around into the main College Lane Campus.

Travel from A1(M) - from the South and North: The University campus is served by the A1(M) motorway. Exit at Junction 3, take the third exit if traveling from the South, (first if coming from the North) and follow the road around into the main College Lane Campus.

Arriving by Train

The University is an 8 minute bus ride from Hatfield Station. The uno bus services 341, 641, and 653 run from the station to the College Lane Campus (The Forum). First Capital Connect operates train services from Hatfield Station to London Kings Cross Station (25 mins) and London Moorgate Station (40 mins). Direct local trains between Hatfield and Stevenage Station (15 mins) connect with Intercity services to and from the North and Scotland. The University can also be reached via St Albans City Station and a 16 minute bus ride by using uno bus services 602 or 655. Services from St Albans City Station connect with London Kings Cross Station (25 mins), Luton Parkway Station (15 mins), and Bedford Station (35 mins).

Arriving by Plane

London Luton Airport: Outside the terminal take the free shuttle to Luton Parkway Station. From there take a train to St Albans Station. Outside the station take a uno service 602 bus to College Lane Campus (The Forum). Your journey should take about one hour.

Heathrow Airport: At the central bus station take a greenline service 724 bus and get off at the Galleria Shopping Centre, which is within walking distance to College Lane Campus. Your journey should take about two hours.

Stansted Airport: From Stansted Coach Station take a national express service 757 bus and get off at the Galleria Shopping Centre, which is within walking distance to College Lane Campus. Your journey should take about one hour. Please note that not all 757 service buses travel via Hatfield.
Alternatively, take an express train to London Liverpool Street Station. From there, use the Transport for London to reach Kings Cross Station and take a train to Hatfield Station. Outside the station take uno bus services 341, 641, or 653 to College Lane Campus (The Forum).

Gatwick Airport: From Gatwick Airport Station take a train to St Albans Station. The journey time should be just over one hour in duration. Outside the station take a uno service 602 bus to College Lane Campus (The Forum).

Local Attractions

If you have some spare time, we recommend you to visit Hatfield House.

Eating and Drinking

The Forum Restaurant is a cafeteria located directly on campus. At the same location you can also find a cafe, a modern pub, and a bar. A small shop operated by the local students' union offers a limited choice of food and non-food items.

The Galleria outlet shopping centre houses a number of restaurants and cafes.

The Horse & Groom and the Eight Bells are traditional pubs located in the old part of Hatfield.
